NSW: Carr calls on bottle shops to boycott alcoholic pops

SYDNEY, Jan 12 AAP - Premier Bob Carr today called on bottle shops to boycott alcoholic icy
poles, to prevent them getting into the hands of underage drinkers.

The Victorian government has indicated it will restrict the sale of alcoholic ice-blocks to
licensed premises, after it was revealed an ice-block containing six per cent alcohol, sold
under the trademark Liquor Pops, was due on the market next month.

Mr Carr said an alcoholic ice-block was already on sale in New South Wales, and the
government was powerless to stop them from …
