Fed: Latham "hungry as" to scoop prime minister's job

Labor leader MARK LATHAM says he's hungry to take the reins as Australia's prime minister.

Speaking at a policy launch in Sydney, Mr LATHAM said Labor's ready to govern and ready
to do a much better job for the Australian people.

Asked how much he wants the top job, Mr LATHAM's told reporters that he's hungry as.

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD's also reiterated his passion for the principal position.

He's told Sydney radio 2UE he still gets a buzz out of it.
