TROY -- The Troy Music Hall is world renowned for its excellent acoustics, but you wouldn't have known that Saturday night. The sound was frequently awful, and never up to par, with feedback threatening to rear its ugly head late into the evening.

That was especially unfortunate for folks who wanted to hear some of Vassar Clements' legendary fiddling. The midrange of Clements' ax was virtually nonexistent, making it sound as though he was only playing half of a violin.
