Fed: Johns warns against ABC cuts

ABC managing director BRIAN JOHNS says the national broadcaster's proposed $67.5 million
on-line deal with Telstra shouldn't be used as an excuse for future budget cuts.

The ABC and Telstra are negotiating a five-year deal to run ABC news and other services
on the telstra.com website, with a share of any future advertising revenue also going
to the ABC.
